    It's wonderful to have weekly reports sent by email. It would be awesome to have the option to send them to Slack as well. If we could choose email and/or Slack for reports (like for the alerts) it would be ideal.

  5. Allow custom headers in webhook requests

    It would be great if you could sent custom headers (and values) in webhook requests. This would allow you to add an API-key as a header which you can check in the system receiving the webhooks to validate it is actually the updown-io services sending the request.

    Currently this is do-able by adding a GET-parameter with a key to the webhook URL, but sending custom headers would be a more preferable option.

  6. Send a webhook-event for Apdex alerts

    It is already possible to "Be alerted (by email) when your website's Apdex drops more than 0.3 in 1 hour". It would be great if this event could also send a webhook-request. This would allow us to be automatically notified in our custom monitoring-system when the Apdex suddenly drops for a website.

    Apdex alerts are currently hard-coded to 0.3 in 1 hour. It'd be nice if we could set the the threshold to a custom value rather than hard-coded at 0.3

    I liked your usage of the HeadWayapp to show us what is new with updown.io and it gave me an idea.

    I am mapping all 150 of my websites to the subdomain status.<website>.com in order to allow people to check the status of the websites when they need to. Now, once a person sees the status page and notices an outage, the first thing they are going to be curious about is what happened. I was thinking it would be rad if we could add the "account ID" from the HEadWayapp widget code to status pages. this will allow admins…

  11. TCP certificate expiry checks

    Updown is great for HTTPS checks - loving the cert expiry warnings, and I can also check my mailserver with the TCP checks.

    I would like to also check the cert validity on a non-HTTPS ports. (i.e. IMAPS or SMTPS. I'm not asking for any understanding of the protocol for non HTTP(S) ports, just connect and do cert checks.)

  12. Integration with Geckoboard

    Geckboard is a popular system to display a variety of metrics via a dashboard for the room. I understand this can probably be done with the API, but if you did a direct integration with them I'm sure you'd see your sign-ups increase since you'd be on their integration list.

    Just my 2 cents worth. :)

    More specifically, we display the status page on a widescreen TV, and we have to zoom out to fit the height of the status page, leaving a lot of unused space on the sides.

    Hello everyone, I’ve just added a way to get the detailed results from the last 5 checks before downtime and recovery to the downtime API, all you have to do is add the “results=true” parameter, like this:

    https://updown.io/api/checks/yyyy/downtimes?api-key=xxxxxxxxxxxxxx&results=true

    Warnings:
    - This API is alpha version, it can still change.
    - The response can be huge, I recommend using this only when needed and with http gzip compression if you can.
    - The dual stack results (IPv4 and IPv6) will NOT repeat “body” and “received_headers” if they are the same as in the parent result record, to save space.

    There is a credits usage estimation based on the current load. However our credits are mostly used by SMS messages. The current estimation is usefull but it would be great to also have an estimation based on past usage (inclunding SMS messages).

    While I understand the need, being in China is a lot of work (mainly support and maintenance) as the network conditions are erratic and with out current double check policy would not actually notify if your website is unreachable in China (unless we have two servers here and become a regional monitoring service but that’s not the objective and we can’t just do that in every country). I’ll keep the idea open to measure interest. Also if some of you have recommendations for a dependable and affordable hosting provider in China I’m interested.
