How can we improve updown.io?

You've used all your votes and won't be able to post a new idea, but you can still search and comment on existing ideas.

There are two ways to get more votes:

  • When an admin closes an idea you've voted on, you'll get your votes back from that idea.
  • You can remove your votes from an open idea you support.
  • To see ideas you have already voted on, select the "My feedback" filter and select "My open ideas".

Enter your idea and we'll search to see if someone has already suggested it.

If a similar idea already exists, you can support and comment on it.

If it doesn't exist, you can post your idea so others can support it.

Enter your idea and we'll search to see if someone has already suggested it.

  1. Just keep making it awesome!

Updown.io is one of the best services I have EVER interacted with! Thank you!

    • Log of uptime/downtime

Maybe I overlooked it, but is there a log of the incidents available? Simply a text list of the times when a website went down, and when it was up again.

Indeed this is not currently possible, there’s just the 6 months view with downtime duration per day and 24h timeline with detailed downtimes. But this is planned, I’m currently working on adding detailed failing requests to downtimes email and will later add a downtime history on the status page.

      • Allow using POST method for monitoring

I’d like to switch to monitoring my API endpoint with updown.io, but the primary endpoint uses POST. Being able to provide custom headers is certainly nice, but being able to customize the request further (i.e. method and submitted content) would be much nicer. Site24x7 which I’m using now lets you provide form data and even check returned value for specific JSON fields.

          • OpsGenie integration

It would be great to have integration with OpsGenie. This would enable escalation of alerts and use their service to send the alert to the on-call colleague.

            • Widget and badge status

Status pages are really good, but it's sometimes simpler to have a widget to integrate into another site.
(badges are also very cool ;))

Yes actually there is an integration with http://shields.io/ planned to provide standard badges to everyone. We probably won’t do any widget though, it’s hard to do one that will look good on most websites. We’ll release read-only API keys in January though, that will allow building highly customizable status page / widget directly in javascript.

              • Public status page with several checks

A status page with several checks, showing daily/weekly/monthly stats for all of them.

This is still planned but in the meanwhile we released read-only API key, which allows you to build truly custom status page or dashboard in javascript by calling our API directly. I thought you might be interested to know that ;)
